When do relays open, and what does reserving mean?
We're setting up the first relays now. Reserving costs nothing and commits you to nothing: you're on the first list, we'll write to you before anyone else with the date and the price, and you decide then. Free names and avatars already work.
Do you hold my keys?
No. You sign in by approving a request in your Nostr app or browser extension. Your private key never reaches us, and nothing we offer needs it.
Do I have to change apps?
No. Keep using Primal, Damus or whatever you like. Your name goes into your profile, and when your relay is ready you paste one address into your app's relay settings.
What if anchorman shuts down?
You can export every note and file at any time, not just at the end. Your Nostr account keeps working with any other relay, because it was never ours. And because the software is open source, anyone could run it.
